Visit a perched 15th century church on the grounds of a medieval fortress that looks out over an impossibly blue sea. Breeze through a local fish and vegetable market, where freshly-caught lobster and sea bass are laid out on ice.
Take a bus tour past some of the island’s most beautiful bays and beaches and stop at the Panagia Tourliani monastery, famous for its iconography from Florence.
Snack on local fare for a true taste of the island and savor a drop of Ouzo, Greece’s most beloved liqueur.
There is no hotel pick-up. Please make your way to Fabrica Square in Mykonos to meet your English-speaking guide.
Start your guided walking tour of Mykonos with a trip to the Tria Pigadia, or Three Wells, which supplied the island with water until 1956.
The people of Mykonos claim that theirs is an island of 365 churches, one for each day of the year. Perhaps the most famous is the Paraportiani Church, a 15th century stone masterwork with whitewashed chapels that sits on a promontory facing the sea.
See the snow-white windmills with pointed wooden roofs that are the hallmark of Mykonos, a quaint vestige of the island’s days as an agricultural center. Walk along the port and stop at a fish and vegetable market, where you check out the catch of the day and let the soft sea breeze wash over you.
Board a bus for a tour past Mykonos’ most beautiful beaches, including Plati Yialos, Ornos and Agios Ioannis.
Visit a small church on Agios Ioannis and enjoy beautiful views of the mythical island of Delos, one of the most important archaeological sites in the East Mediterranean.
Continue along the coast, past the picturesque bays of Korfos and Meagali Ammos. Arrive in Ano Mera and tour the Panagia Tourliani monastery, which has a marble bell tower and intricate folk carvings.
There are many opportunities to take breathtaking pictures on one of the photo stops along the way and your guide will give you an interesting insight in the history and traditions of the island.
Proceed to Kalafati, where you are treated to a sip of Ouzo, the anise-flavored liqueur adored by Greeks, and a small plate of food, or meze.
There is no hotel drop-off. You will be returned to Fabrica Square in Mykonos at tour’s end.
Please call the activity operator at least 24 hours prior to start of the tour for reconfirming departure details.
Infants 0 - 2 Year old go free. However, they will not have their own seat on the coach.
