    Overview Discover Montreal and learn how to take beautiful photos in this tour that takes you to some of the most photogenic locales in the city. Visit the city museums and see the interesting exhibits and displays that bring to life the rich history and culture of the city. Browse through the famous market squares and have fun at the Quays of the Old Port of Montréal, a recreational park offering an array of outdoor activities.

    This specially designed photography tour will help you to discover and experience a city through the eyes of a local multilingual guide-cum-photographer who has in-depth local knowledge, a passion for their city and for the art of photography. So bring your camera and be prepared to walk, shoot and click.


    The tour starts at the Montreal Convention Center (Palais des Congrais) 1001, Jean-Paul Riopelle Place, Place d'Armes metro station.

    Your multilingual photographer-cum-guide, specializes in landscape and travel photography and also works with fashion and wedding photography.

    • Start with the Notre Dame Basilica and see the magnificent Gothic Revival church dating back to 1829.

    • Discover the Chateau Ramezay Museum, a former Governor's residence dating back to the 18th century.

    • Next proceed to the Montreal City Hall built in 1872. From its balcony in 1967, the French President General de Gaulle had uttered his famous words Vive le Québec libre!.

    • Continue to the Marguerite Bourgeoys Museum, a key site in Old Montreal dating back to 1655. Also, see the Pierre du Calvet House, built in the 18th century. This house is one of the most beautiful examples of urban architecture developed in New France.

    • The next stop is the Marché Bonsecours. Inaugurated in 1847, it was the city's main agricultural marketplace for over a century.

    • Continue to the Centre d'histoire de Montréal, a charming museum which brings to life the history of Montréal from 1535 onwards.

    • See the Quays of the Old Port of Montréal, a 2.5 km long recreational and tourist park which offers a variety of outdoor activities.

    • Walk to the Clock Tower in the Old Port, which was built in 1922 to commemorate the courage of the men of the Merchant Fleet who were lost during World War I.

    • Visit the Montreal Museum of Archaeology and History, which is a national historic site set at the very birthplace of Montreal.

    • Finally visit the Montreal Convention Center to photograph its colourful facade.

    • At the end of the session your photographer-guide will review some of the photos taken (if you are carrying a digital camera). You will have learnt the basics of composition, the importance of light in photography, how to take balanced and attractive images, and simple techniques to take "creative" images.

    The tour concludes at the Montreal Convention Center.
