After a morning pick up from your downtown hotel and meeting your guide, we’ll head straight for the massive Hoover Dam. This impressive structure was built during the Great Depression in order to irrigate the arid states of the Southwest. You’ll descend over 300 meters down to the Colorado River, where you’ll board a raft in the launch area. These large, comfortable rafts have multiple air chambers and are outfitted with state of the art, officially approved safety equipment.

From here, it’s time to drift downstream between the high walls of the Black Canyon. The views here are truly spectacular and the peaceful silence can even be a little eerie at times. If you’re lucky you may spot big-horn sheep, ospreys, or great blue heron in their natural habitat. The raft will make several stops for you to swim in the cool, clear waters or explore the rugged shoreline. Relax and enjoy the trip as you dig into a delicious packed lunch and experience the sights and sounds of this magnificent setting. It’s a real feast for the senses.
