Itinerary

The Kuala Lumpur History & Heritage Tour begins with a pick-up from your hotel at the scheduled time, depending on whether you opt for a morning or afternoon tour.

Enjoy a tour of the oldest parts of the city and enjoy an insight into the history, culture and heritage of Kuala Lumpur. Travel in the comfort of an air-conditioned vehicle and see famous attractions with an English-speaking guide.

Explore quaint Chinatown and Colonial Kuala Lumpur. Enjoy a delightful introduction to the colourful legacies, influences, a unique architectural heritage and a colourful mix of culture and decorative landmarks. Lovers of culture, history or even old buildings will enjoy this tour of the glorious heritage of the old city.

Some of the attractions you will be visiting are:
Chinatown’s Petaling Street – Hone your bargaining skills in the pre-war shophouses and buy souvenirs and exotic oddities from the energetic street vendors. The British once named Petaling Street the Monte Carlo of Malaya.
Sze Ya Temple – One of the oldest and most venerable shrines in Kuala Lumpur built in 1864.
Sri Maha Mariamman – The oldest Hindu temple in the city with the unique temple design styles of southern India, it is still a busy worship place for local Hindus.
Central Market – Built in 1936, this old market place was once a timber shed and a meeting place for traders in 19th century Kuala Lumpur. The market was built at the site of the first settlement.
Masjid Jamek– Of classic Moorish influenced design, Masjid Jamek is the oldest Islamic place of worship in Kuala Lumpur. Overlooking the Klang River, the site promises picturesque views of verdant surroundings and distant views of Kuala Lumpur’s other iconic landmarks.
• See other historic KL attractions like The Padang (Independence Square), Sultan Abdul Samad Building (a Moorish secretariat headquarters), Royal Selangor Club (a mock Tudor-styled clubhouse built in 1884), St. Mary’s Anglican Church (built in 1894, the church owns an antique pipe organ) and KL Railway Station (built in 1911, the building is noted for its graceful colonnade of Arabic arches, domed minarets, spires and turrets. Its interior is that of many large Victorian railway stations in England.)

See the famous Teh Tarik demonstration – Teh tarik literally means “stretched tea” and is cooled by swiftly pouring hot tea from one mug to another. An authentic culinary art form that makes for a fascinating watch. Teh Tarik is a fashionable way of making tea in Malaysia and is still a must-have favourite of Malaysians from all walks of life.

After the tour, you will be dropped off to your hotel.
