Interact with the ethnic Thai community and get a sneak peek into their lives when you stay overnight at a homestay in a remote village.

Itinerary

DAY 1

Depart from Hanoi to Mai Chau in a private vehicle and drive past lush green countryside before stopping at a typical Thai village, Pom Coong for a traditional Thai lunch. After lunch, take a walk to the villages inhabited by minority White Thai tribe. Listen to the gurgling streams used for the irrigation of the rolling rice fields as you stroll down to Lac Village.

After your walk, head back to your bus around 2pm to reach Pu Luong Nature Reserve. En route, enjoy picturesque views of limestone mountain forests and the vast expanse of rice fields. Upon your arrival at the reserve, you will check in to a homestay in Don Village and around 5pm head out for a trek through the rice fields.

Take in the bucolic landscape and learn about the unique flora and fauna of the region from the guide who will lead the hike. Though it may take some effort walking up to the hills, but once you reach the top, the views of the surroundings will mesmerize you.

After the hike, head back to your homestay and enjoy a lovely home-cooked dinner before you relax and get set for the next day.

DAY 2
Your day starts at 8am with a hearty breakfast that would energize you for the long trek ahead. Leave your homestay around 8:30am and visit the picturesque remote villages and the rainforests.
During your hike, you will stop at the Lan Ha water wheel that feeds water to the rice fields. Enjoy a quick swim or take photographs with the picture-postcard landscape in the backdrop. The trek will last for almost four hours and ends with lunch at a local restaurant.
