Overview

Spend a delightful morning exploring the town of Zante and discover the culture and folk history of the enchanting island of Zakynthos.

Zakynthos is a Greek island steeped in history and rich culture and is known for its local products and crafts from olives, sweets, honey, wines to lace, pottery. Firstly, you will visit traditional village of Macherado, where you will see the museum church of Agia Mavra (The Black Madonna).

Heading towards mountains, you will visit olive factory. You will see how Zakynthian olive oil is produced in winter. You will pass by mountain village of Kiliomeno and through Agios Leon to the village of Kampi with its spectacular views over the cliffs and view of Ionian Sea.
You will then visit Maries, where it is said that Mary Magdalene stopped her way to protest the crucifixion of Christ and started preaching Christianity. Next will visit to the caves in the North of island. You may take an optional trip to the Caves (there will be an extra charge per person for the boat trip). You will pass by Anafonitria where you will visit famous monastery of St Dennis. You will stop for lunch in one of the traditional mountain villages. Also, you will have a shopping stop to sample and purchase various local produce. The bus will now cross over to the North East and head to the photo stop in Katastari overlooking Alykes and beyond.

Infants under 2 years are free of charge. However, they will not have their own seat on the coach. Tour requires considerable amount of walking, so we recommend walking shoes.
