Oh to be a King or Queen, walking down the tree-lined gardens, taking in the splendour and grandeur of the palace. Now you can transport yourself to such a place as you spend a relaxing day riding through the tree-lined gardens of Versailles and return to the time of the most famous French kings and queens.
On arrival in Versailles, you will cycle to the famous city market to shop for picnic supplies (price not included). Then you will stop for a picnic at the end of the Grand Canal in the exact same spot where Kings Louis XIV, XV and XVI dined as they marvelled at their house at the far end.

You will also visit the Chateau, the Grand & Petit Trianons and the Hall of Mirrors. It’s a tour fit for any King or Queen. Wonder if they took the train!?

The highlights included in the tour are:

  • Versailles Open-air Market
  • Grand & Petit Trianons
  • Picnic along the Grand Canal
  • Versailles Royal Gardens
  • Skip-the-Line Access to Château de Versailles
  • Audio Guide included inside the Château
  • Hall of Mirrors
  • Queen's Hamlet

The action-packed tour ends in Versailles where you can explore the Chateau and town at your own leisurely pace. Your guide will provide you with a train ticket to return to Paris when you choose.

Make your own way to the meeting point. After reaching Versailles by train, you will head straight to the Palace of Versailles where you will collect your bikes and begin your biking tour accompanied by an English speaking guide.

The tour includes a visit to:

The Versailles Food Market: Visit the famous Versailles market to shop for your picnic supplies (price not included).

The Versailles Gardens: Bike through the gardens and also see the parts which otherwise you cannot see on foot. These world-famous gardens are alone worth the trip to Versailles.

The Hall of Mirrors: See this hall in the palace of Versailles. This was the site of the signing of the treaty that ended World War I. From here, you can admire the beautiful view over the Versailles Gardens.

The King’s State Apartments: See the bedrooms of both King Louis XVI and Queen Marie Antoinette.

Grand Canal: Admire the views along the Grand Canal as you enjoy your picnic here.

Marie Antoinette’s Hamlet: We will ride past Marie Antoinette’s Hamlet, where the queen stayed disguised as a peasant girl in order to escape her court.

Grand and Petit Trianons: Built by Kings Louis XIV and XV respectively, they offer a fantastic view into the original Versailles and the opulence the royalty enjoyed.

The tour ends at Versailles from where you can return to Paris on your own. Your guide can also help you with directions to the station if you wish to catch the train to Paris.
