  • Overview & Itinerary
Overview Enjoy a city tour through downtown Foz do Iguassu and its main streets. Some of the buildings you will find may surprise you.

Admire the beautiful Omar Ibn Al-Khattab mosque, pristine white and beautifully proportioned, and the serene Buddhist temple and its statues.

You will also see the Landmark of the Three Borders marking the point where Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina meet, and the place where the Parana and Iguassu rivers converge. Due to ongoing works, the Landmark of the Three frontiers will remain closed until 18th December, 2016 and there will be a visit to the Itaipu Eco Museum instead.

For your Foz do Iguassu City Tour and the Three Frontiers experience, you will be picked up from your hotel in an air-conditioned vehicle at the time pre-arranged with the local tour operator.

Foz do Iguassu has a population of some 325,137 inhabitants and is a popular tourist center because of the celebrated Iguassu Falls. On your city tour, you will visit downtown Iguassu and see Getúlio Vargas Square and Brazil Avenue, the city’s most important road. Formerly the location of a military headquarters, it is now a busy shopping area.

You will also see the lovely Omar Ibn Al-Khattab mosque. Built with contributions from Lebanese immigrants living in Foz do Iguassu, this is the largest mosque in the Americas.

Another testament to Foz do Iguassu’s multi-culturalism is the impressive Buddhist Temple. The temple greets visitors with over 100 statues of bodhisattvas, or those working towards Enlightenment, their hands stretched forward in welcome. Other statues in the extensive grounds include dragons, elephants and a large reclining Buddha.

After touring the town, you will be taken to view the Triple Frontier, where Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay meet. Each side has its own Marco (landmark).

You will also see the meeting point of the Iguaçu and Paraná rivers.

At the end of the tour, you will be dropped off at your hotel.
