You will be picked up from major hotels in Chiang Mai and taken for this tour in a pick up truck. You will be accompanied by an English speaking guide.
Drive through steep hills and plains to the North of Chiang Mai. Stop at the Mae Malai local market. See local vendors selling exotic fruits, vegetables, flowers and food.
Take a break for a picnic lunch at the Hot Springs. There are many hot springs in the area with the Sankampaeng Hot Springs being the most famous. The high sulphur content of the springs is believed to have curative effects and soaking yourself them is said to relieve several ailments.
Enjoy a 3.5 hour trek through tropical evergreen forests and reach the Karen Hill Tribe Village. Explore the village at leisure.
Dinner and stay for the night will be at a traditional Karen house.
After breakfast, set out on a 1 hour long trek to an elephant camp. Enjoy a 1 hour elephant ride to a Lahu Hill Tribe Village.
Stop for lunch in this village. Enjoy a leisurely 3 hour bamboo raft along the Mae Taeng River and reach a Shan village.
Drive back to Chiang Mai. At the end of the tour, you will be dropped off to your hotel at 1730h (05:30pm).
