Arriving at the large Palace in dark early evening it was very clear where the Candlelit Dinner and Concert event was being held as the East and West Great Orangeries were lit in a reddish orange array of floodlights and the many large windows of the West Wing had hundreds of small real candles flickering. On entering greeted by a Master of Ceremonies wearing Baroque era costume and wig.
Individually Guests were taken through a closed red velvet curtain to their assigned table. MC introduced each course in German and English, food and catering by Mariott was SUPERB. I would estimate the sold out Dining and Concert had between 250 to 300 Guests.
The Concert in 2 parts was hosted by the MC first part the Orchestra and Singers were in full Baroque period costumes with music from the era (Mozart etc) and later in full tails black evening attire playing music from later period including Strauss, Vilvaldi and also Ravel's Balero. Excellent music and songs VIP Guest seating was in front rows and served Champagne in intermission. A personal farewell by MC on departing the venue. The Palace a perfect setting for a Candlelit Dinner and Baroque Concert especially on New Years day evening 2018 in Berlin.

The dinner was delicious, and we enjoyed the concert- even if it meant a long retk through the rain. The Charlottenberg Palace was the perfect venue....
