Enjoy a sumptuous gourmet buffet of Australian delicacies under the stars at the award-winning ‘Sounds of Silence’ dinner. See the beautiful Mutitjulu waterhole and walk to the mystical 36 domes of Kata Tjuta.
Take in the spectacular sight of Uluru, the majestic red sandstone monolith, as it dramatically changes colors during sunrise and sunset! Explore the base of Uluru with a friendly guide and learn about Uluru’s geographical features and its religious significance to the local Anangu Aboriginal community.
Hotel pick-up and drop-off are included in the package. Return airport transfers can also be arranged. You also have the option of choosing the kind of overnight accommodation you want based on your budget.
Day 1:
You will be picked up from your hotel and taken to the dining spot in the evening at the scheduled time. Tuck into a romantic ‘Sounds of Silence’ dinner beneath a million stars. Enjoy a gourmet buffet of Australian delicacies accompanied by fine Australian wines. The site is within the Uluru National Park, outside the Uluru & Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre set amongst red sand dunes and desert oak trees providing a tranquil desert setting.
After dinner, an astronomer will conduct a tour of the Southern night skies, describing and pointing out some of the visible constellations with the assistance of a high beam spotlight (weather permitting).
After dinner, you will be taken to your accommodation (if option chosen) to spend the night.
There are three types of accommodation types to choose from, depending on your budget. These are:
Day 2:
Travel to the Uluru sunrise viewing area early in the morning and enjoy the spectacular sight of the first rays of the sun setting the Red Centre alight. Sip on your morning cup of tea, coffee or hot chocolate as you bask in the surreal experience that Uluru is so famous for.
Explore the 36 rugged domes of Kata Tjuta and en route take in spectacular views of the southern side of Kata Tjuta. Explore the base of Walpa Gorge and the unique rock formations. The walking trail through Walpa Gorge follows the natural creek between two of the tallest domes of Kata Tjuta.
You will be enjoying a tour of the base of Uluru and learning about the numerous sacred sites and geographical features to be found at Uluru from your knowledgeable driver guide. Continue by coach to the Kuniya Walk where your Driver Guide will escort you to the beautiful Mutitjulu Waterhole. Study the Aboriginal rock paintings as your guide enlightens you about the Aboriginal and European history of Uluru and points out the local fauna.
You will also visit the Uluru- Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre, where you can learn about Aboriginal culture and shop for Aboriginal arts and crafts and take back interesting souvenirs from your Uluru trip. In the late afternoon, travel to the Uluru sunset viewing area to watch the spectacular change in color of Uluru as the sun sets. Soak in the surreal beauty of the sunset while enjoying canapés and a complimentary glass of wine.
You will be returning to your hotel for the night.
Day 3:
You can take an optional scenic helicopter flight or perhaps a Harley Davidson ride around Uluru (own expense). You will then be dropped off to your hotel or the airport.
