When to go to Dubai

It really depends how hot you like it! Dubai is never cold; with the exception of a few showers which you may experience in January and February you will find Dubai to be a city of eternal sunshine. During the winter (November – March) the daytime temperatures are around 25 degrees Celsius, rising to the low 40’s in the height of summer. Even in the height of summer though you will find that the Dubai city planners have crafted the city in such a way to offer a range of palm trees and air conditioning that provide respite from the midday sun.

Owing to its range of state-of-the-art sports and entertainments venues Dubai is attracting many world-class events and festivals. You are sure to find something going on at all times throughout the year. From the world renowned Dubai Tennis Championship, to the slightly less well-known Camel Races, from Jazz festivals to the popular “Legends of Rock Festival” the city can cater to all tastes.

Though modern Dubai is a melting pot of various world cultures its main influence is the Muslim Calendar and the Islamic festivals are observed across the city. Should you be visiting during Ramadan (dates of which vary yearly) you will find all the cafes, bars and restaurants to be closed from sunrise to sunset. You will still be able to eat at hotel restaurants however if you can wait till sunset to go out to eat you will find the city alive with a party atmosphere as locals come out to break their fast.
