    Itinerary

    You will be picked up from your hotel and taken for a eco tour of Wellington’s vibrant natural wonders in a luxurious air-conditioned vehicle equipped with commentary. An English-speaking guide will accompany you on this tour.

    You will be driven to Wellington’s beautiful waterfront where you can enjoy a leisurely walk while hearing Maori legends of sea monsters, or Taniwha, who once lived under the harbor’s mysterious waters. Also learn about the legendary warrior who landed his canoe on the Wellington shore.

    Set out on an exhilarating four-wheel drive journey to Red Rocks on the dramatic Seal Coast at the south of the city. Get across a live active fault line, over rock beachfront and around headlands to visit a captivating colony of fur seals, sprawled over the rust-colored rocks that give the destination its name. The views here are exceptional - you'll see the Tasman Sea meet the Pacific Ocean, the tumultuous waters of Cook Strait separating the North and South Islands, and the distant mountain ranges of the South.

    Relax and enjoy a delicious bistro lunch with brilliant panoramic views over the harbour capital.

    After lunch, set out on an invigorating bush walk in New Zealand's only botanic garden dedicated solely to native plants. On the fringes of the city, yet seeming a world away, it has safe native bush trails and plant collections, including several 400-year old trees. This botanic garden is a haven for native birds where you may see the Tui, Kereru, Silver Eye, Kingfisher, Grey Warbler and Morepork amongst the feathered inhabitants of the forest.The endangered birds including the Kaka, Kiwi, Saddleback and Bellbird are regenerating in the native forest

    At the end of the tour you will be dropped back at your hotel in Wellington.
