    Overview

    On this sightseeing tour of Poland’s picturesque district of Western Mazovia, visit the small town of Lowicz and discover more about Polish folk art and culture. Today the town is renowned for being the hub of folk arts and crafts like weaving and wood carving.

    Lowicz’s regional museum contains folk art as well as the history of the town and the archaeology of the region. On the 17-hectare area are gathered architecture objects dating back to the 19th and 20th centuries. Living and household buildings are equipped with furniture and tools. There is a forge, an inn and roadside chapels.

    On this tour, explore the beautiful Palace of Nieborow with its breathtaking gardens.

    Itinerary

    You will be picked up in the morning in a private vehicle from your hotel in Warsaw. Accompanied by an English-speaking guide, you will proceed on a guided tour to Western Mazovia, a region of beautiful nature, folk art, country manors, old churches and palaces.

    • Visit the Regional Museum in Lowicz known for its local art and a museum full of typical costumes, paper cuttings, embroidery as well as fully equipped and decorated old country houses.
    • Visit the Palace of Nieborow. It was built during the years 1690-1696 by one of the great Baroque architects, the Dutchman Tylman van Gameren. A lovely park with Baroque gardens surrounds the castle.
    • Visit Arkadia Park which literally means, 'that imaginary land of happiness'. There, nature and art are in harmony. The complex is composed of buildings imitating ancient ruins or the English Gothic style Murgrabia House, Little Gothic House, Stone Arch and more.

    At the end of the tour you will return to your hotel in Warsaw.
