The St. Mark’s Basilica is one of Venice’s most popular attractions. Marvel at the gleaming, golden Byzantine mosaics, which adorn the church's main portal as well as the inside of each of the basilica's five domes. St. Mark's Basilica is an embodiment of true Venetian aesthetic and holds many precious artworks and relics including the bejewelled Pala d’Oro.

Itinerary

Admire the stunning marble and bronze features of St Mark’s Baptistery, also known as the “The Church of Gold,” and enter the Zen Chapel to witness the Pala d’Oro, a golden altarpiece decorated with priceless jewels and considered one of the most precious objects in the world.

Study the influences of Byzantine, Western European, and Islamic architecture on Saint Mark's Basilica due to Venice's powerful seafaring past. The cathedral boasts many of the finest frescoes and mosaics found anywhere in the world and is a must-visit for every Venice tourist.

You will be visiting areas which had previously been restricted to visitors. Admire the gothic tomb of the doge Andrea Dandolo and the marble and bronze baptism font that takes centre place in the room.
