See the very best of Sedona and the Grand Canyon in this far-reaching tour.

Ride the rails of history into the Grand Canyon on a vintage locomotive and enjoy plenty of free time in one of the seven natural wonders of the world.

Stretching for 277 miles, reaching a depth of nearly a mile, and showcasing some 2 billion years of geological history, the Grand Canyon defies comparison.

An optional helicopter ride and canyon rim tour let you see the area from all angles.

Drive through Sedona’s magnificent Red Rocks region, where sheer, russet-colored rock formations gesture towards a pure blue sky.

Stroll through the artistic town center that makes Sedona a popular refuge for painters, writers and filmmakers.

Day One:

You will be picked up by air-conditioned coach (vans will be used for smaller groups) from your Phoenix/Scottsdale hotel and set out across the Sonoran Desert en route to Sedona. You will be accompanied by an English speaking guide that knows the area inside and out.

Covering more than 100,000 square miles in Arizona, California, and Mexico, the Sonoran Desert is the most biologically diverse desert in North America. Among the 2000 plant species native to the region is the bristling saguaro cactus, whose delicate white blossoms are the Arizona state flower.

Arrive in the Red Rock country of Sedona, where rust-colored rock formations and clear streams inhabit the same harshly beautiful landscape.

Downtown Sedona is known for its numerous shops and art galleries, which are as colorful as the countryside. Spend a free afternoon and evening browsing or take an optional backcountry Jeep tour at a cost of $60 approx.

Overnight stay at Kings Ransom or equivalent

Day Two:

You will be picked up from your hotel in the morning and depart for Williams, home of the historic Grand Canyon railroad.

On your way, pass through the awe-inspiring river gorge of Oak Creek Canyon, which is embellished with forests of pine and juniper.

Arrive in Williams and board the Grand Canyon Railroad. Each car of this Arizona railroad - which made its maiden voyage in 1901 - has been lovingly restored to its original state, and the crew members all have anecdotes to share about the train and its many journeys.

Travel through open plains with mountain views and past crystal lakes embroidered with pine forests. You'll take the historic Grand Canyon Railway one-way up to the Grand Canyon through plains with mountain views before arriving at the Grand Canyon south rim for your first views of this breathtaking wonder.

Disembark from the train at the south rim of Grand Canyon National Park, where you’ll enjoy lunch and a guided rim tour prior to checking into your local hotel.

The stone sculptures of the Grand Canyon give off brown, yellow, and red hues that are amplified by a striking blue sky and wayward tufts of clouds. The landscape is otherworldly, like the surface of some distant planet waiting to be discovered. Photographers will think they’re in heaven!

Overnight stay at Maswik Lodge or equivalent.

Day Three:

You’ll wake up in the heart of the Grand Canyon.

In the morning, you can choose between an optional helicopter ride (at additional cost) or more free time to explore the rugged splendor of the canyon.

You can take a memorable nature walk on one of the Canyon’s many trails, shop for keepsakes in the Grand Canyon Village, or relax at your hotel.

You will be returned by coach to your Phoenix/Scottsdale hotel at tour’s end.
