There is no pick up for this Central Park Bike Tour so please make your own way to Pier 84, Hudson River Park (557 12th Ave at 43rd Street).
Get your bike and helmet and set out for your bike tour of the Central Park area. A guide will accompany you on this tour.
Ride in Hudson River Park along the bank of the Hudson River and on to Upper West Side, a neighborhood that is still home to artists, actors and writers. The Upper West Side may feel familiar as it has been the setting for many movies and television shows, and its flavour has been captured in Woody Allen's film “Hannah and Her Sisters”.
Carry on to Sheep’s Meadow but don’t expect to see any sheep! The world famous Tavern on the Green now stands where sheep once grazed and a shepherd once held up traffic as he drove the animals to and from the meadow.
Experience the childish delight on seeing the classic Carousel with hand carved and painted figures that still stands in Central Park.
Rest at Bethesda Fountain and admire the beautiful Angel of Waters sculpture that has appeared in more movies than any other monument in the park.
Continue on to Central Park Reservoir and enjoy the panoramic view from the most magical monument in Central Park, the Belvedere Castle.
Close by you will see the Shakespeare Garden, nestled in a rocky hillside. Only flowers mentioned in Shakespeare's plays and poetry are planted in the garden.
For Beatles fans, Strawberry Fields will be of particular interest. Named after the Lennon/McCartney song, it features a memorial dedicated to John Lennon and it is located very close to Dakota Apartments, where Lennon was murdered.
You will also see International Peace Garden, the Bow Bridge, Loeb Boathouse and many other places
There would be photo stops along the way. Water and a light snack will also be provided. The snack is usually a granola bar, crackers, etc. The snack is always healthy and never includes nuts.
Your tour will end where it started, back at Pier 84.
