For your Grand Canyon North Rim Tour you will be picked up from your hotel in Las Vegas driven to North Las Vegas Airport. Your flight will be in a fixed-wing Dornier plane (giving better views than a helicopter) and your pilot will provide commentary in English.
Heading south-east from Las Vegas you will see the silvery Colorado River far below and catch fabulous views of Lake Mead. Soon you will see the mighty Grand Canyon, 6 million years old and famously visible from space, the Canyon is vast – a mile deep and over 275 miles long. You will land on the wilder and less touristy North Rim.
On arrival you have two options: A van tour or an ATV tour.
Grand Canyon North Rim Van Tour:
Travel by a van to the inner gorge. On the way, you'll learn about the fascinating rock art and cave dwellings of the Anasazi people who lived here more than 1,000 years ago. At the edge, peer into the vast chasm of the Grand Canyon and see how, over millions of years, Nature has sculpted the ancient rocks into a dizzying array of dramatic landforms. Spend approx 4 hrs at the Grand Canyon.
Later, you'll drive to a remote working ranch where cowboys herd cattle just as they did a hundred years ago. Here you'll get a whiff of Wild West romance and see what it really means to live and work in this harsh and rugged land.
By now the cool, fresh air has probably made you hungry! Tuck into a picnic lunch of croissants with various fillings ham/ turkey/ roast beef (lettuce / salad for vegetarians), plus chips, cookies, fruits and water, before heading back to town.
Grand Canyon North Rim ATV Tour:
This option is just like the first, except that instead of taking a van ride to the North Rim you will travel by ATV (all terrain vehicle, also known as a Quad Bike) over rugged rocky trails into the inner gorge. A guide will accompany you.
After your ATV adventure you will visit the working ranch and have a picnic lunch.
Both options return to Las Vegas by air and you will be dropped at your hotel.
