For your exciting Colorado River Rafting and Hummer Tour From Las Vegas, you will be picked up from your hotel in an air-conditioned Hummer by your driver/guide and driven out to the Hoover Dam.
Your rafting trip starts at the base of the Dam. As you set off in the motor-assisted craft, have your camera ready to capture magnificent shots of Hoover Dam from the water. This incredible structure is one of the world's tallest dams and greatest engineering triumphs.
The 11 mile stretch of river covered by this rafting experience is gentle and rapid-free. You will drift gently through the Black Canyon where you may spot big-horn sheep, jack rabbits, kit fox or other desert creatures. You will also see some of the more than 200 native and migrating birds of the area, including bald and golden eagles, ospreys, great blue herons. Peer into the crystal clear water and you can spy rainbow trout, bountiful striped bass and other freshwater fish.
Your friendly and informative on-board guide will point out interesting features like bubbling hot springs and rock carvings (petroglyphs) and also explain the history of the area. You will hear stirring stories about the early explorers from Mexico who navigated this river when they came looking for gold and other treasure.
On the way, you will enjoy a picnic lunch of sandwiches, a cookie, and a bottle of water.
Your raft ride lasts for 6 hours and ends at the raft depot, where you will be picked up in your specially equipped ‘Hummer’ desert exploration vehicle.
You will then experience the off-road ride of your life as the Hummer powers through the rugged Frenchmen Mountains. Admire the dramatic desert landscapes formed from ancient rocks and carved into fantastic shapes by wind and weather. The tour will pause at: Lizard Eye Ridge, where you will see incredible views of Lake Mead and Las Vegas in the distance; at Lava Butte, an extinct volcano; and at Rainbow Gardens, where you can see extinct lava flows.
Your Hummer adventure lasts around 90 minutes and at the end of the day you will be dropped off back at your hotel in Las Vegas.
