Escape the bustle of the city on a Colorado River Rafting Adventure. To start your exciting trip you will be picked up from your Las Vegas hotel in a luxury air-conditioned vehicle and will drive to the great Hoover Dam. The journey takes around 30 minutes.
Your rafting adventure begins at the base of the Hoover Dam, one of the tallest dams in the world. Before you set off, take the opportunity to photograph the massive structure from the water.
Then relax and enjoy the ride as your captain takes you on a slow float (11 miles) down the Colorado River.
Look out for the wildlife of this rough terrain. You may see bighorn sheep grazing along the banks and catch glimpses of jackrabbits scampering among the rocks. Peer into the water and you’ll find the river is full of rainbow trout just under the surface.
You will not be the only one taking an interest in the fish. Look out for ospreys flying overhead, or a great blue heron standing sentinel on the bank.
At lunch time, your captain will pull the raft ashore to a secluded beach where you can enjoy a peaceful picnic. If you ask, he or she can tell you about the history of the river and the pioneers who came here from the Gulf of Mexico in search of treasure.
Your Colorado River rafting trip ends in Arizona, where you will board your motor coach for your return trip to Las Vegas. During your ride back to Las Vegas, you’ll cross over Hoover Dam.
At the end of a day filled with fresh air and fun, you will be dropped back at your Las Vegas hotel.
