Overview

Calling all history fanatics! Experience the best of both worlds with this half or full day tour as you see the highlights of old and new Boston.

Begin your day by stepping aboard a fully air-conditioned coach and journeying into the historic towns of Cambridge, Lexington, and Concord--the heart of the American Revolution.

Start by America’s oldest college, Harvard University, before continuing your journey along the historic route of Paul Revere’s midnight ride into the countryside towns of Belmont and Lexington. Stand on the famous Lexington Green as you take a moment to remember the 77 brave Minutemen who risked their lives and fought for their freedom against 700 of Britain’s troops.

Continue your journey into Concord as you pass the homes of Hawthorne, Alcott and Emerson--some of America’s finest and most beloved writers.

When you return to Boston you have the option to explore more of the city by adding a 2 hour tour of modern Boston in the afternoon. This fully narrated, 2 hour tour of Boston, includes a detour to see the USS Constitution and a visit to the popular Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall.

Itinerary

Your Boston tour begins in the historic towns of Cambridge, Lexington and Concord, followed by an optional city sightseeing tour of Boston in the afternoon.

Begin by traveling through the town of Cambridge and make a stop at Harvard Yard, the oldest part of Harvard University, where you will witness the site of several archaeological finds and the famous statue of John Harvard. See the now historic Cambridge Common, where General Washington took control of the Continental Army.

Travel along the Battle Trail to Belmont and Lexington as we follow the same route that Paul Revere took on his historic midnight ride as he warned the countryside that "the British are coming!" Here, you will be able to stand on Lexington Green as we take a moment to remember the Minutemen who fought for their freedom against the British troops.

Head to Concord where we will drive past the homes of famous authors Nathaniel Hawthorne, Louisa May Alcott and Ralph Waldo Emerson.

Finally, you will arrive at the Old North Bridge, where "the embattled farmers stood and fired the shot heard 'round the world’".

As you begin your return to Boston, you will stop at the famous Faneuil Hall/Quincy Market where you will have the opportunity to stop for lunch and shopping.

If you have chosen to add the optional city tour, you will re-board the coach in the afternoon for a fully narrated 2 hour tour of Boston, including a 20 minute stop to see the USS Constitution.

At the end of the tour you will be dropped back at your hotel in Boston, or the original departure point.
