Overview

This tour combines the historical town of Marblehead and Salem; known worldwide as “the witch city.” Travel north from Boston to historic Marblehead, the birthplace of the American Navy, and one of the great sailing capitals of the world.

The seafaring village of Marblehead, 17 miles north of Boston, is a treasure from a bygone age of sea-going commerce. Preserved here on a rocky outcrop on the coast surrounded by the cold, blue Atlantic is one the best collections of pre-revolutionary buildings in America.

While in Marblehead you will visit Abbott Hall (closed Sundays) to hear a short lecture and view the original painting, "The Spirit of 76."

Continue to Salem, your time here is at leisure, some of the attractions you may wish to visit is The Salem Witch Museum and US Custom House.

The 17th century House of the Seven Gables, New England's oldest standing mansion, which inspired Salem-born Nathaniel Hawthorne's novel of the same name.

The shops and restaurants at Pickering Wharf will provide an ideal place for lunch or simply a relaxing stroll.
