Overview

Travel through a landscape steeped in history. As you journey past Linlithgow palace and on to Stirling Castle, your guide will bring to life the turbulent times of the Stuart Kings and Mary Queen of Scots. Once at Stirling, you'll have plenty of time to explore this amazing fortress or the beautiful city that it overlooks.

The Bonnie Bonnie Banks O' Loch Lomond are your lunchtime stop and you can stretch your legs and take in the scenery. Also, there will be a chance to enjoy lunch at a pub built out of a 300-year-old oak tree.

In the afternoon, you have the opportunity to experience the real spirit of Scotland and visit one of Scotland's most beautiful distilleries – Glengoyne. You'll find out how whisky is made and discover why a whisky matured in the lowlands is classified as a Highland malt.

Itinerary

Head off into the Highlands on the Stirling Castle, Loch Lomond & Glengoyne Distillery excursion.

you'll be passing through a landscape steeped in history. You'll journey past the famous battlefield of Bannockburn and your guide will bring to life the turbulent times of Robert the Bruce and Scotland's fight for independence.

You will stop at the beautiful city of Stirling, site of the Wallace Monument. You'll have ample time to explore the splendid castle (entrance payable direct) or stroll through the ancient streets that surround it.

The route then takes you through the spectacular Duke's Pass which offers magnificent views to the peaks of the stunning Trossachs Mountains and carries you past some of Scotland's most picturesque lochs.

Your lunchtime stop is by Loch Lomond. Why not try lunch at a traditional pub built out of a 300-year-old oak tree (payable direct) and then walk the shores of Britain's largest expanse of fresh water?

The journey home holds one last treat. You'll have the chance to visit one of Scotland's most beautiful distilleries and get a taste of the true spirit of the country - a Highland Malt Whiskey (entrance fee payable direct).

At the end of the tour you will be dropped back at the starting point.
