Set out on one of the famous "Haggis Adventures" specially designed for backpackers and young travelers.

Accompanied by your entertaining “Haggis” Guide you will take the most scenic route from Edinburgh to Loch Ness and experience Scotland like never before. Travel past the imposing ramparts of Stirling Castle and skirt the Rob Roy country before crossing the wilds of Rannoch Moor. Enjoy views of Fort William and Britain’s highest mountain, Ben Nevis, before taking on the Great Glen through the village of Fort Augustus.

Spend some time exploring the ruins, learning about the legend of the Loch Ness monster that is believed to be living in the depths of this 600-foot lake. Trace the entire shoreline of Loch Ness (look out for the Monster!) to the Highland Capital of Inverness.

Journey back through the stunning beauty of the Cairngorms National Park before climbing over the wild and lonely Drumochter Pass. Head south into Perthshire, Big Tree Country - a land of forests, rivers and mountains.

Itinerary

The tour starts from 60 High Street, the Royal Mile in Edinburgh, where you will be picked up in an air-conditioned coach and taken to Loch Ness. An English-speaking guide will accompany you on this tour.

Heading north from Edinburgh en route to Loch Ness, you will pass the imposing ramparts of Stirling Castle and skirt the Rob Roy country and the banks of Loch Luibnaig. The tour takes you past Fort William and Britain’s highest mountains, Ben Nevis, before following the Great Glen through the village of Fort Augustus.

Explore the ruins and enjoy views of the 600-foot waters surrounding it on three sides. The castle was one of the largest strongholds of medieval Scotland. The village of Drumnadrochit lies on the west shore of Loch Ness and is popular with tourists for its scenic settings and fascinating legends. Along the way stop for Picnic lunch at a local restaurant.

On your return, journey past the Cairngorms National Park and then head south into Perthshire. View the spectacular Forth Bridges before arriving back to Edinburgh.

The tour ends at 60 High Street, the Royal Mile in Edinburgh (the original starting point).
