See the famed beauty of Northern Ireland on this County Down Tour From Belfast. To join the tour you should make your way to the local tour operator’s office inside Belfast International Youth Hostel. Please try to arrive by 0945h (09:45am) to give yourself time to settle comfortably in your seat before departure at 1000h (10:00am).
For this delightful tour, you will travel in a luxury coach accompanied by an expert guide. After departing Belfast you will travel along the Ards Peninsula, taking in the beautiful scenery along Strangford Lough. On arrival at Portaferry you will make the short ferry crossing (about 8 minutes) to Strangford (weather and sailings permitting) then on to Downpatrick.
On arrival in Downpatrick you will visit the Church of Ireland Cathedral where Saint Patrick is said to be buried, as well as the old County Down Museum and Jail House.
Step off the coach at Newcastle, the picturesque seaside town which was made popular by the song ‘The Mountains of Mourne’.
After lunch (not included in price), the coach will make its way along the coast where you will experience some of the most breathtaking scenery in Ireland and travel through some of Ireland’s most picturesque villages.
The next stop of the day will be in the beautiful and historic town of Rostrevor where you will enjoy lovely views across Carlingford Lough.
After Rostrevor the coach will move onto Carlingford, one of the best preserved medieval villages in all of Ireland, before travelling back to Belfast.
