Explore the historical and cultural legacy of the UEA on the Sharjah & Ajman City Tour from Dubai. At the start of the tour you will be picked up from your hotel in Dubai City center. (Please make sure you are ready for your hotel pick-up as the driver is unable to wait for latecomers.)
An English-speaking guide will accompany you on the half-day tour. Your tour begins with a drive to Sharjah, which is directly adjacent to Dubai. The third largest Emirate in UAE, Sharjah is an attractive blend of the old and the new. It is blessed with diverse scenery and superb waterfronts.
You will visit the Cultural Square before proceeding to the Majahrah Souq, famous for its intricate mosaics and golden dome. The next stop is the 150 years old Al Naboodah House, the museum for cultural heritage.
You will see the outside of the majestic King Faisal mosque in Al-Ittahid Square, currently the largest mosque in the Emirates. This magnificent building was a gift of the Saudi Arabian King Faisal. It was opened in 1987 and has space for 15,000 people. You will also see the elegant Pearl Monument, which symbolizes the UAE federation, and stroll through the fabulous Blue Souk. This treasure trove for shoppers is a great place to buy gold, silver, carpets, antiques, perfumes and a variety of other goods.
The tour continues to the Emirate of Ajman. You will visit the fascinating Ajman Museum that was opened in 1981 in a lovely 18th century fort which once served as the Ruler’s palace. Located in the town center, the museum houses an interesting collection of archeological artefacts, manuscripts, old weapons and reconstruction of traditional life. Displays depicting fascinating medical and religious practices give a fantastic insight into the life led for centuries among the coastal Bedouin.
Mineral water and soft drinks are provided during the tour. You will be dropped back at your hotel.
