Wings Over Kenya (Upmarket Option) |
Visit the most popular game reserves in Kenya and set out on wildlife safaris and balloon flights!
| Overview | |
Journey to Amboseli National Park, Samburu National Reserve and Masai Mara Game Reserve for an 8-day wildlife safari adventure in Kenya. Fly out from the capital city of Nairobi for the picture perfect Amboseli National Park. Set against the backdrop of the snow-capped 5895 metre high Mount Kilimanjaro, Amboseli National Park is a sight to behold. Travel to Tortilis Camp, a rustic tented camp shaded by acacia ‘tortilis’ thorn tress and an award winning ecotourism camp. Discover the African wilds with three game-spotting safaris where you could see buffaloes, lions, gazelles, warthogs, zebras, Masai giraffes and herds of elephants. A short flight will now take you to Samburu National Reserve in Northern Kenya. Set against the backdrop of the red tabletop mountain ‘Lololokwi’ and lying on the banks of the Uaso Nyiro River, the reserve has extensive grasslands, acacia trees, riverine forests and thorn bushes. Travel to Samburu Intrepids for a luxurious camping experience in one of its 27 tents. Two game spotting safaris here will give you the opportunity to spot reticulated giraffes, Somali ostriches, Beisa oryxes, gerenuks and the endangered Grevy’s zebras. And don’t forget to keep an eye out for kingfishers, vultures, tawny eagles and the sun-bird that are seen in this region. Continue now to the world renowned Masai Mara Game Reserve in Western Kenya. Lying against the backdrop of the Esoit Oloololo Escarpment and dissected by the Mara River, the Masai Mara is famous for its variety of wildlife and seasonal ‘wildebeest’ migrations. Travel to the Main Governors Camp, situated in the prime wildlife spotting area. After lunch, enjoy a late afternoon game spotting safari in the reserve and look-out for a variety of wildlife. The next day, as the sun rises over the region, set out on a balloon safari over the reserve which encompasses the northern extension of the Serengeti ecosystem, appreciating the beauty of the ‘sea of grass on plains’. After a morning of wildlife spotting, enjoy a delicious bush breakfast with champagne. If you’re visiting the reserve between July and October, you’ll be in for a real treat as you watch the wildebeest migration. With a number of game watching safaris and balloon flights over the savanna, this safari adventure is something you will not want to miss in Kenya.
