Wings Over Kenya |
Balloon rides, wildlife safaris and bird watching, this 8-day safari adventure in Kenya has it all!
| Overview | |
Discover the wilds of Kenya as you visit Amboseli National Park, Samburu National Reserve and Masai Mara Game Reserve on this 8-day safari adventure. Fly out from the capital city of Nairobi for the picture perfect Amboseli National Park. Set against the backdrop of the snow-capped 5895 metre high Mount Kilimanjaro, Amboseli National Park is a sight to behold. Travel to Amboseli Serena Lodge and enjoy the wildlife adventure with three game-spotting safaris. Lookout for buffaloes, lions, gazelles, warthogs, zebras and Masai giraffes for which this reserve is home. A short flight will now take you to Samburu National Reserve in Northern Kenya. Set against the backdrop of the red tabletop mountain ‘Lololokwi’ and lying on the banks of the Uaso Nyiro River, the reserve has extensive grasslands, acacia trees, riverine forests and thorn bushes.Travel to the Samburu Serena Lodge, ideally located for game-spotting safaris in the savanna, where you could see elephants, reticulated giraffes, Somali ostriches, Beisa oryxes, gerenuks and the endangered Grevy’s zebras. And don’t forget to keep an eye out for kingfishers, vultures, tawny eagles and the sun-bird that are seen in this region. Continue now to the world renowned Masai Mara Game Reserve in Western Kenya. Lying against the backdrop of the Esoit Oloololo Escarpment and dissected by the Mara River, the reserve is famous for its variety of wildlife and seasonal ‘wildebeest’ migrations. Travel to the Mara Serena Lodge, situated in the prime wildlife spotting area. After lunch, enjoy a late afternoon game spotting safari in the reserve and lookout for lions, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, hippos and elusive leopards. The next day, as the sun rises over the region, set out on a balloon safari over the reserve which encompasses the northern extension of the Serengeti ecosystem, appreciating the beauty of the ‘sea of grass on plains’. After a morning of wildlife spotting, enjoy a delicious bush breakfast with champagne. If you’re visiting the reserve between July and October, you’ll be in for a real treat as you watch the wildebeest migration. With a number of game watching safaris and balloon flights over the savanna, this safari adventure is something you will not want to miss in Kenya.
