Pilanesberg National Park is South Africa’s fourth largest game reserve and home to an impressive variety of wildlife. Two hours from Johannesburg and spread over 500 square kilometres, this national park lies in the crater of a 1200 million year old extinct volcano.Enjoy safaris, both in the day and night, and experience the majestic wildness of the African savannah. You could come across some of the Big Five (elephants, rhinos, lions, leopards and buffaloes). The park is also home to white rhinos, giraffes, a variety of antelopes, zebras, hyenas and African wild dogs. Look up through your binoculars and you’ll spot many of the region’s 300 species of birds.
