This historic walking tour offers a look at Cork city which is intended to give the visitor an understanding of the origins of Cork, and how it developed via its varied, and precarious, history. Cork is such an old city, one of the oldest of all Irish cities. On this tour, visit churches such as St Finbarr's Cathedral which rests on the monastic site of Saint Finbarr, historic buildings such as Elizabeth Fort and old city walls. Take a stroll through the mediaeval Norman streets and visit the North and South Gate bridges, North and South Main Street. So, explore Cork as you are trace the changing fortunes of the city and its development from its origins to the modern era.
