Lovers of Renaissance art and architecture will love focusing on the city of Vicenza. Vicenza is home to civic buildings, basilica and aristocratic residences designed by renowned architect Andrea Palladio. Visit his first Villa, the Villa Godi, which is richly decorated with 16th Century frescoes. It is set amongst the rolling hills and enchanting villages of the Breganze wine region. Villa Rotonda, Palladio's most celebrated work, has a temple-like façade and its symmetry along with its setting gives it an air of splendid perfection, echoing the principals of Palladian architecture.
