Queen Charlotte Sound is one of the easternmost sounds of the Marlborough Sounds, the intricate maze of sheltered waterways in the north-eastern nook of the South Island of New Zealand. It is a beautiful drowned valley that runs southwest before merging with Cook Strait. The Queen Charlotte Sound, characterized by bush-clad coastlines and deep coves and bays, is best explored by sea kayaking. This paddling adventure is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the beauty and magic of the Queen Charlotte Sound against the background of the setting sun. It is also ideal for those who have limited time in the Sounds and want to experience the best of it. Beginners need not worry as this is a very easy tour and there is also a guide on hand.
