Visit Tsavo National Park and explore the dramatically different landscape of Kenya on this wildlife safari. Spread over 22,000 square kilometres, Tsavo National Park is Kenya’s largest national park. Travel from Mombasa to Tsavo East National Park, a 11,747 square kilometres reserve. An afternoon game-spotting safari will take you past rolling hills and pre-historic lava flows. You’ll have to keep a sharp eye out for hippos, zebras, antelopes and elephants that are a little hard to spot because of the dense vegetation. In the evening, relax at the Voi Safari Lodge, enjoy the quiet of the surrounds and a view of the African bush. The next day, set out for the 9000 square kilometres Tsavo West National Park. Surrounded by the Chyulu Hills and the Pare Mountains, you will get a sense of Kenya’s diverse landscape. Head towards Mzima Springs and you will travel past swamps, natural springs, rocky peaks and extinct volcanic cones and the black lava Shetani flow. This spring produces 93 million gallons of fresh water and is the main source of water for Mombasa. Visit the main attraction- hippos and crocodiles at the water pool. After the afternoon wildlife safari, cool off at Ngulia Safari Lodge. As you watch the sunset in the evening, you will appreciate Kenya’s dramatically different landscape and its numerous species of wildlife.
