Spot a variety of African wildlife as you go on game drives and bird watching safaris and learn about Tanzania’s wilderness on this tour to Tarangire National Park. The northern region of Tanzania has some of the best and most accessible game reserves and a variety of animals and birds. Visit the 2850 square kilometres Tarangire National Park that is dissected by the Tarangire River. Don’t forget your binoculars for bird watching and keep your camera handy for some great photographs of wild animals. Take a game safari at Tarangire and you could spot herds of wildebeest, elephants, hartebeests, kudus, giraffes and a large variety of birds like the ashy starling and orange parrots. Take a walk, escorted by armed guards and naturalists, and photograph the natural landscape and wildlife. Visit the Simanjiro game controlled area, one of Manyara National Park’s districts, bordering the Tarangire Park. You will be taught the art of animal tracking by a guide, and test your newfound skills as you take a bush walk escorted by armed rangers. Participate in anti-poaching activities with armed rangers and get rifle training that includes a rapid fire drill, normally used to protect oneself from a charging buffalo or elephant. Learn about the vegetation and Maasai culture that are an integral part of the reserve. Offering African wildlife spotting, bird watching and a glimpse of local Tanzanian culture and the ranger life, this trip to the Tanzanian wilderness will be unforgettable!
