Tanzania’s National Parks Exploration |
Get set for an adventure trip into the wild as you explore Tanzania’s game reserves
| Overview | |
Head to Southern Tanzania for an adventure of a lifetime as you spot African wildlife and go on game drives. Drive from Dar es Salaam to the fourth largest reserve in Tanzania - the Mikumi National Park. Surrounded by the Uluguru and the Lumango Mountains, this reserve is home to wildlife such as buffaloes, elephants, zebras, lions, giraffes, crocodiles and wildebeest. Drive around the Mkata plains and the Mwanamboga waterhole. During your stay at Mikumi, you could also take a day trip to the Udzungwa Mountains National Park. Walk to the spectacular Sanje Waterfalls and spot chimpanzees and birds. Fly to the 6000 feet high Southern Highlands of Tanzania, visit the tea estates and forested area of Mufindi, and get a flavour of Tanzania’s culture at a local village. Relax at the Highland Lodge, from where you can revel in the beauty of the surroundings and explore the area on horse back and mountain bikes. From the Mufindi airstrip, set out for Tanzania’s second largest park - the Ruaha National Park. This wildlife safari park has a stunning landscape of grasslands, rocky kopjes and lofty mountains. Stay in large stone and thatch rooms located on the banks of the river, and you could spot game such as wild dogs, zebras and giraffes from the comfort of your room. This reserve is known for the largest population of elephants in Africa and for a variety of birds, so do not forget to pack your binoculars! After the adventure part of the trip is over, sit back and relax on the beach. Visit the Lazy Lagoon Island on the 1800 mile long Swahili Coast. This 9 kilometre long island provides the perfect setting for a beach holiday with white sandy beaches and mangrove forest. Enjoy an array of water sports such as snorkelling, kayaking, sailing or windsurfing, or just relax on the beach. Take this African wildlife safari park tour in Tanzania for an unforgettable holiday!
