Komodo Island is a hilly, desolate yet beautiful island sandwiched between Flores and Sumbawa and the big attraction here is gargantuan lizards – 3-metre, 100-kilogram monsters, knows as ‘Ora’ to the locals and ‘Komodo Dragons’ to westerners. Why they exist only on or around Komodo Island is a mystery! The island is surrounded by some of the most tempestuous waters in Indonesia, marked by riptides and whirlpools.

The Komodo National Park has some of the best diving spots in Nusa Tenggara and you could snorkel at Pantai Merah (Pink Beach). If you are lucky, you could spot young dragons on trees. Enjoy the beautiful sunset from your hotel as you end this tour of Komodo Island and return with memories of the majestic ‘Ora’
