A short distance from Phuket lie the breathtakingly beautiful Phi Phi Islands, one of the world's most beautiful destinations. These picture postcard islands offer the ultimate tropical getaway and are renowned worldwide for their natural scenic beauty with silver sand beaches fringed with palm trees, towering limestone cliffs and hills full of lush greenery. Phi Phi Islands are made up of two islands, Phi Phi Don and Phi Phi Ley. Phi Phi Ley is the more quiet of the two islands. The island is uninhabited and lined with steep limestone cliffs, caves and small rocky bays. Its Viking Cave is famous and contains prehistoric paintings and many ledges where swallows make their nest. The locals come there daily to collect the nests used to make Bird's Nest Soup, a Chinese gourmet delicacy. Beaches, clear blue waters and coral reefs – the beautiful Phi Phi Islands make for a perfect family excursion in Thailand.
