Ramble around the ruins of the San Ignacio Mini, at the heart of tropical rainforest to capture a sense of Argentina’s Jesuit lineage. A religious order of men from the Roman Catholic church, the Jesuits were devoted to promoting the ‘greater glory of God’ and thus committed to converting the indigenous Guarani Indians. A World Heritage site, you will be transported back in time as you tread the paths of 17th century Jesuits amongst imposing remains of a temple, the door of a priests’ refectory and the main square. As you wander about the indigenous Guarani Indian houses, you will get a palpable sense of their culture and artistry. Continue on to the semi precious stone mine, Wanda. Formed below the hard surface basalt rock, watch as they are magically transformed into jewels and decorative pieces. With a traditional meal in your belly and surrounded by the wilds of a rainforest you will experience a sense of complete contentment.
