Geikie Gorge was once a part of the ‘great barrier reef’ in the Devonian era. It is home to a fascinating variety of wildlife which includes the harmless Johnson crocodile and stingrays whose saltwater ancestors swam up the Fitzroy River millions of years ago. The Purnululu National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is home to the fascinating Bungle Bungle Ranges. More than 20 million years of erosion and river movements have formed these huge black-and-orange striped domes. Enjoy a walk to the stunning Echidna Chasm, a narrow gorge with walls towering 100 metres which are adorned with palms.Also included in this tour is Lake Argyle, which is Australia’s second largest artificial lake. This tour will show you the diverse topography of Australia.
