For all wildlife enthusiasts touring Durban area and looking for a Big Five safari, a safari package with the Amakhosi River Lodge is a must-do! A privately-owned five star lodge situated on the Mkuze River in northern KwaZulu-Natal, Amakhosi is a wildlife lover’s heaven. An integral part of a private wildlife reserve, the mountain grasslands, wetlands and valley bush-lands surrounding the lodge are unfenced, allowing full freedom to the wildlife. The riverfront setting of the main building and river lodges, all with raised timber decks, provides a great platform to observe the wild animals and birds in their natural habitat. Set out on a game drive with an experienced ranger and keep an eye out for the famous South African Big Five. Your ranger will help you interpret all the signs of the bush and tell you more about the wildlife.
