Giant tortoises, swooping gulls and friendly sea lions set in the unusual volcanic islands of the Galapagos will make this a vacation to remember! Beginning from the colonial capital of Quito, spend the day strolling around the ‘old town’, savoring the old world charm of one of South America’s best-preserved colonial cities. Add some equatorial magic as you visit the Equatorial Monument and straddle two hemispheres! The next day, your island adventure will begin as you arrive at Galapagos Islands and board the M/V Galapagos Explorer II, a 293 foot first class cruise ship. A wet landing at San Cristobal Island will give you a flavor of adventures to come as you swim, snorkel and keep an eye out for blue footed boobies and sea birds. Plunge into the celebration of nature as you hike across the volcanic islands through lava tubes, past colonies of playful sea lions, giant tortoises, mockingbirds, flamingoes and pelicans. From Hood Island and the iguanas of Dragon Hill to the Charles Darwin Research Station of Santa Cruz, you will be spoilt for choice as you are confronted with a gamut of activities on the islands.
