Just west of Grahamstown and only an hour's drive from Port Elizabeth, is the Pumba Private Game Reserve. Set in the heart of the Eastern Cape's malaria-free game viewing region of a beautiful landscape of thornveld, grassland and forest, this vastprivate reserve is home to an extraordinary range of wildlife, including the rare White Lion. Set out on a game-spotting safari and see some of the Big Five (lions, leopards, buffaloes, elephants and rhinos) and other wildlife from giraffe to the elusive leopard, antelope, other small game and over 300 species of birds. The unique vegetation of the Eastern Cape is favoured by elephants in the dense bushveld environment. Overlooking Lake Kariega, the privately-owned Pumba Private Game Reserve offers stunning views of the wilderness and water from every point. Watch animals drinking at the picturesque Lake Kariega. A safari in the heart of the African jungle is a great way to see South Africa at its best.
