Pikes Peak, with its glorious 14,110 foot peak is the second most visited peak in the world. This 60-mile round trip travels up historic Ute Pass through the village of Cascade to the well-maintained Pikes Peak Highway. As the road climbs higher, each new curve offers yet another spectacular mountain vista. You’ll see mountains, dense forests and tundra, a fragile and desolate ecosystem in which one footstep off the path can take years for Mother Nature to repair. At the summit of Pikes Peak the views stretch for miles. To the south, the often snowcapped Sangre de Cristo Mountain Range and the Gold Rush town of Cripple Creek seem close enough to touch. To the west lies the Continental Divide while in the north the peaks of Rocky Mountain National Park are visible.
