Sightseeing Tour of Pachacamac Temple Ruins |
Steeped in legend and mythology, the ruins of Pachacamac, will transport you to a bygone era.
| Overview | |
Pre- Hispanic mythology and Wari legend will weave its magic around you as you explore the ruins of Pachacamac, Peru’s most renowned pre-Hispanic pilgrimage site. According to Wari legend, Pachacamac was the God of ‘fire and earthquakes. These temple ruins of Pachacamac lie just 30 kilometres south of Lima, overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Although the earliest constructions at Pachacamac only date back to around 200 A.D., it is famed as the site of an important Inca Temple, the Temple of the Sun and the ‘House of the Chosen Women’. As you tread the paths of an ancient people, the magic and timelessness of the ruins will give you a sense of Peru’s dynamic past.
