Six Days Around Northern Thailand
Travel across Northern Thailand, visit some of the finest temples and see the ‘Rose of the North’
| Attractions and things to do - Six Days Around Northern Thailand | |
Take a six-day holiday in Thailand and visit exquisite temples and palaces and historic sites on this tour. See two UNESCO World Heritage Sites on this trip, Ayutthaya, the old Siamese capital, and Old Sukhothai, the 13th century first capital of the Thai kingdom. The Bang Pa In or the famous Royal Palace served as the summer residence of Ayutthaya kings. Another attraction is the Thai pavilion built in the middle of a lake and the Chinese-style palace Vihat Chamrun. Explore Ayutthaya’s large number of temples. Keep your camera ready in Lopburi and get some great photographs of the three-towered temple, Phra Prang Sam Yod and the Hindu Goddess Kali shrine at the Sarn Prakarn Temple. The large sitting Buddha statue at Wat Sri Chum here makes for a wonderful sight. Get a glimpse of Thailand’s local people as you meet the Yao hill tribes and visit the tiny bamboo houses of the Akha, the natives of North Thailand. The famous “Golden Triangle“ is the meeting point of the borders of Burma, Laos and Thailand and one of Asia’s two main illicit opium-producing areas. The Opium House museum here will educate you about the infamous history of opium. Mae Ka Chan’s hot springs are relaxing and rejuvenating. The Wat Phra Dhat Doi Suthep in Chiang Mai, which is also called the ‘Rose of the North’, is more than 3,500 feet above sea level! Explore the rich beauty and vibrant culture of Northern Thailand on this six-day tour
