The magnificent coastline is dotted with a diversity of wildlife, nature-filled rainforest, extinct volcanoes, and historic seaside villages. It blends into famous wine regions, extraordinary wetlands filled with bird life, sand dunes and long forlorn beaches. One of the highlights of the Great Ocean Road are the 12 Apostles Rock formations. You can only see a number of the Twelve Apostles, for the others are situated behind the rocky headlands lining the Victoria coastline or shrouded by other rocky crop-outs. Drive along the Limestone Coast that stretches south from the Coorong National Park to the Victorian border, reaching a pretty inland farming country to the famous wine region, ‘The Coonawarra’.
