Trek to the summit of South- East Asia’s tallest mountain on your Malaysian adventure. You will reach Mount Kinabalu, standing tall at 4095.2m, after driving through the picturesque Crocker Range. The base of the mountain is the Kinabalu National Park, with an immense variety of flora and fauna. Timpohon Gate is the point where the ascent begins. You don’t need any special mountaineering experience for this expedition, but a certain degree of physical fitness is essential. The trek to Laban Rata (3345m) will take you through changing vegetation and will last the whole day. Start your summit expedition before sunrise and you will be rewarded for your efforts with the sight of a glorious sunrise (wind and weather permitting, of course!). Begin your descent before the morning mist rolls in and end your adventure at Timpohon Gate.
