Mount Kenya Climb Sirimon Trek |
Intriguing rock formation, wildlife, dense vegetation – Mt Kenya is a trekker’s delight.
| Overview | |
The beauty of Mount Kenya will leave you spellbound as you walk along its numerous pathways. Start your journey from Nairobi and proceed to Naro Moru for lunch at the Naro Moru River Lodge. The lodge lies on the equator between Nyeri and Nyanyuki, and has spacious rooms, delicious food and great gardens. Start your mountain trekto Naro Moru (on the west of Mount Kenya), reaching Judmaier Camp at a height of 3300m, a flat camping ground with large clusters of heather Spend an overnight at where you spend the night. Feast your eyes on the spectacular views of the summits of Batian and Nelion to the south of the camp. Ascend the Sirimon Track to Likii North Valley and camp overnight in this beautiful little valley below the subsidiary peaks of Teleki and Sendeyo, two ancient vents of the main peaks. An amazing variety of flora and fauna hold you enraptured as you scale up the Sirimon Track. Lush bamboo vegetation merging with the upper forest of smaller trees, laced with high altitude mosses is truly An incredible sight! Have your camera ready to take pictures of Black and White Colobus, Sykes monkeys, bushbuck, buffalo, elephant, black rhino, leopard and Olive Baboon among others. Climb up the Mackinder’s Valley, one of the broadest valleys on the mountain, clumped with an outgrowth of giant groundsels. While you climb Mount Kenya, appreciate the beauty of glaciers, ice carved rock formations, valleys and snow capped pinnacles. Return on the Naro Moru Track and savour a hearty meal at Naro Moru River Lodge before heading back to Nairobi. Dense wilderness, winding pathways, amazing wildlife…Mount Kenya is a trekker’s dream come true.
