Leave Fez for the day to enjoy the beauty and cool air of the Imouzzer region, situated at a height of 1350 metres in the Atlas Mountain range. This is the home of the Berber tribes, Morocco’s earliest inhabitants. Watch Berber men tending their herds, milling flour, plying their crafts. At Dayet Awa, a lovely, well conserved lake, enjoy the beautiful scenery. Explore Ifran as you pass through the flower-lined paths and French style architecture of this quaint little town, built by the French on the Atlas ranges at a height of 1,650 metres above sea level. Along the Cedar Forest road you might even spot the famous grey swoons of the Atlas or wild boar.
