The pyramid represents a Mayan calendar made in stone with carvings of the plumed serpent (Kukulkan) on its stairways. Look out for some exquisite Mayan architecture and ruins at the eight-tier Temple of Inscriptions in Palenque. At the Pyramids of Teotihuacan, you’ll see people meditating on the top of the Pyramid of the Sun and Pyramid of the Moon. Take a refreshing break at the Agua Azul that opens up a vista of roaring waterfalls, fern-fringed pools surrounded by dense jungle. A swim in its calm waters will soothe your senses.
